Therapy for children,
as they are.

Children often show us what they feel before they can say it. Northcore Health offers a warm, playful and unhurried space where your child can express themselves in the way that comes most naturally to them, whether they are autistic, have ADHD, are neurotypical, or are still finding out.

Understood, not changed.

Northcore Health is a neuroaffirming practice. The aim of therapy is never to make a child appear more "typical", reduce stimming or teach them to mask. It is to help them understand themselves, feel accepted as they are, and cope with the things that feel genuinely hard, like anxiety, overwhelm or a tricky transition.

Autistic children, children with ADHD, children who are still waiting on an assessment, and neurotypical children are all very welcome. A diagnosis is not needed to start therapy.

Your child leads

Our work with children is child-centred: your child leads, and the therapist follows. Sessions are shaped around their age, stage of development, sensory needs and the way they like to communicate. For many children that means play and making things rather than sitting and talking.

The therapy room is quiet and soundproofed, with natural light, heating and a fan, an open floor space for play, and its own private entrance, so there is no busy waiting room to cope with on arrival.

Every child is different

If you are not sure whether therapy is right for your child, the free 30-minute telephone consultation is the place to talk it through.

Working alongside you

You know your child best, and you are an important part of this work. Therapy begins with a first meeting for you and your child together. Your child is always welcome in this meeting, so there is no mystery or worry about adults talking about them, and they have a voice from the very start. It is a chance to hear your concerns, answer questions and explain how the process works.

Along the way, we check in with parents and guardians so that you feel informed and supported, while still protecting the trust your child builds in the room.
